Research possibilities with openwifi+

/OFDMA-based%20interference%20avoidance
Interference is an important problem that influences the performance of wireless communication systems in crowded environments. With openwifi's OFDMA design, we can leave a portion of the available subcarriers unused in the presence of interference. This is demonstrated, a.o. with a combined openwifi and IEEE 802.15.4 setup.
Investigating the security of Wi-Fi devices can involve sending unexpected or malformed frames to see how a device responds. Such tests generally use Linux and off-the-self Wi-Fi dongles. Erroneous behavior of such tools has been observed, mitigated and validated with both openwifi and commercial dongles.
/Wi-Fi%20as%20a%20sensor
A SIMO Wi-Fi radar with one Tx and two Rx antennas was realized based on openwifi. Directional antennas are used to reduce Tx-Rx interference in full-duplex mode. This Wi-Fi MIMO radar system brings dual capabilities: sensing the passive target that is not transmitting any signals and the normal Wi-Fi device that transmits signals for data traffic.
